Day 30: Usability Testing for Websites

The goal is to be focused and results driven

The ease of use and level of intuitiveness of a specific function or step on a website are revealed through usability testing. It can assist in identifying usability issues such as confusing navigation, unclear language, and other issues.

Steps

  1. Limit the scope of your test as much as possible.

  2. Create high-fidelity prototypes with red herrings.

  3. Recruit participants based on user behavior rather than demographics.

  4. Make the testing environment open and welcoming.

  5. Analyze the results and make the necessary changes.

Mistakes to avoid

  1. Avoid vague concepts

  2. Avoid asking leading questions

  3. Giving the user only one way to complete a task.

Learning

Halfway through the challenge, I am facing writer's block. I have an understanding of usability testing. The obstacle is communicating the new knowledge I have acquired without sounding repetitive.
