Day 52: Importance of Empathy in UX Design

Today I learned about empathy in UX design, how to create empathy and user journey maps, user stories, how to scope design problems, and what happy paths, curb effects, and edge cases are.

Empathy is understanding someone else's feelings or thoughts in a situation.

UX design is not about solving problems we assume users want solved, it's about solving problems that sers actually want solved.

An empathy map is an easily understood chat that explains everything designers have learned about a type of user.

Pain points are UX issues that frustrate users and block them from getting what they need.

Types of Pain Points

  1. Financial

  2. Product

  3. Process

  4. Support
